Softbank Mobile to bring Snapdragon powered Android phone to Japan

>> 10 November, 2009

Softbank Corp., Japan’s third- largest mobile-phone company, will sell handsets using Google Inc.’s Android operating system from spring 2010 to maintain its lead in user additions and to boost data-service sales.

The phone will have a 3.7 inch organic light-emitting diode screen, Softbank Chief Executive Officer Masayoshi Son said at briefing in Tokyo today. He declined to identify the manufacturer because the company hasn’t announced it’s making them.

This phone will be based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon processor, other details are still not clear.
