As we reported earlier, Samsung is holding a press event today in Mumbai and it will be releasing the Galaxy Grand smartphone for the Indian market. Company has confirmed the same on its Facebook page and Twitter. The Korean manufacturer will also be live-streaming the event and if possible, we will add the live-stream here, so that you can watch the Galaxy Grand event live. The Samsung Galaxy Grand, which was originally announced in December 2012, features a 5-inch WVGA display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.1.2, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage, 8MP rear camera, front camera, and 2100 mAh battery.
Samsung is going to release the dual-SIM version of the smartphone in the Indian market. The phone has already been listed on Flipkart as ‘coming soon’ and will most likely to go on pre-order soon after the launch event.
Expected to be priced around INR 20-25,000, the Galaxy Grand will be Samsung’s first dual-SIM phablet in the country and it will compete with the likes of Lenovo’s IdeaPhone K860, Micromax’s recently announced A116 Canvas HD and even the Samsung’s original Galaxy Note.
