Seems like, Samsung has finally realised the importance of sub INR-15K tablet market in India. The Korean manufacturer is now planning to launch the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 311 aka Tab 2 7.0 Wi-Fi in the country in the first week of next month. The tablet will be priced at INR 13,900.
Currently available for pre-booking at the official Samsung e-store, the tablet was originally announced at last year’s Mobile World Congress, so it is pretty much an year old. We are already hearing about the Tab 3 rumours, which will be released at MWC 2013 next month.
Coming back to Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 311, the tablet features Android 4.1, 7-inch 1024x600p display, 4000 mAh battery, 3MP rear camera, VGA front camera, and 1GHz dual-core processor. The tablet also packs 1GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and microSD card slot.
The 3G version of the same tablet (Tab 2 7.0) is already available in India as Tab 2 310 and currently retails for about INR 19,300.
For the Indian customers, Samsung is also pre-loaded the My Education app on the tablet, which was recently introduced with Galaxy Grand and provides content from 1 to 12th class CBSE curriculum, 10,000 educational videos, 1200 text books and more.
