Targeted to entry-level smartphone buyers, the new Lava smartphones are powered by 1.2GHz dual-core processor and feature 256MB of RAM and Android 4.2. Coming to the specific devices, 3G 356 packs 3.5-inch HVGA display, 1.3MP rear camera, VGA front camera and 1500 mAh battery. On the other hand, 3G 402 features 4-inch WVGA display, 3MP rear camera, VGA front camera and 1500 mAh battery.
While most of the features of these Lava phones are decent, the meagre 256MB of RAM and poor rear cameras are certainly cause of concern.
Lava has revealed in a press release that both phones will be upgradable in the future with support for OTA updates but we are not really sure if these will be getting any.
“Lava has introduced affordable, yet fully loaded entry level 3G android smartphones which will now fuel the aspirations of the evolving mobile user in India. The Lava 3G 356 and 3G 402 are uniquely designed smartphones which lets a consumer enjoy the power of 3G by consuming online content,” said Hari Om Rai, Co-Founder & Director, Lava International Ltd.
