Toshiba is going ultra-cheap with its latest Android tablet. Dubbed as Toshiba Excite Go, the tablet has been priced at just $109.99 and will go sale beginning early-July in the United States. There is no word on the release in other markets.
The tablet runs on Android 4.4 and packs a 7-inch 1024x600p display, quad-core Intel Atom processor, 16GB of internal storage and microSD card slot. In addition, the tablet features microUSB 2.0 port, microHDMI, and 1GB of RAM. Other specifications are unclear right now.
According to Toshiba, the Excite Go will come pre-loaded with OfficeSuite Pro for document creation and edition as well as Toshiba TruCapture app, which improves the readability of images from whiteboards and books by automatically removing borders, straightening distortion, reducing glare and noise, sharpening and brightening contrast.
“Consumers love handheld Android tablets as they offer portable entertainment at accessible prices and can be easily added as an additional device in the home. The Excite Go is yet another example of Toshiba’s ability to provide affordable tablets with the latest version of Android, competitive features like Intel processors and solid build quality,” said Philip Osako, senior director of product marketing, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division.
