Spice V801 with 3GB RAM, 4G VoLTE, HD screen launched at INR 7,999

Spice V801Spice Devices, a subsidiary of Transsion Holdings, has launched the new Spice V801 phone in India. The smartphone carries a price-tag of INR 7,999 and is now available in the country.

According to the company, with the latest launch, its smartphone portfolio now includes a total of four devices including K601, F301 and F301. Spice had re-entered the Indian mobile devices market less than two months back in July, 2017.

“With the launch of Spice V801, we have bolstered our current portfolio and have added another smartphone to our list of stylishly designed phones with features that stand out and appeal to the Indian Youth,” said Sudhir Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, Spice Devices.

Spice V801 specifications

Spice V801 sports a 5-inch high-definition screen and is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek processor. The phone also packs 3-gigabytes of RAM, 16-gigabytes of internal storage and support for memory expansion using a microSD card.

Additionally, Spice V801 features eight-megapixel rear and front cameras, fingerprint sensor, 2700 mAh battery and 4G VoLTE support. The smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat, however there is no word on the Android 8.0 update for the phone.

About Spice Devices & Transsion Holdings

After quietly exiting the Indian mobile phone market couple of years back, Spice made its re-entry in July 2017 in a partnership with China’s Transsion Holdings. Spice Devices is a JV between Transsion and Spice Mobile with the former holding 80% stake. Transsion is handling manufacturing, sourcing and marketing Spice brand phones in India.

The Chinese company also operates TECNO, Infinix, itel mobile devices brands. In addition, Transsion owns Carlcare for after-sales services and Oraimo for mobile accessories. Carlcare was launched in India earlier this month and will be providing after-sales service for all Transsion brands including Spice Devices.
