Qualcomm’s SVP of product management, Luis Pineda, has just revealed that there are at least two more versions of Snapdragon to come in 2010, running at up to 1.5GHz.
First up will be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8X50A, a 45nm version of the current chip and clocked at 1.3GHz. That will begin sampling to manufacturers later in January 2010, with the first products using expected by the end of the year. It’ll be followed by a dual-core Snapdragon, the 8X72, with twin 1.5GHz Scorpion cores, before 2010 is out.
Qualcomm’s 1GHz Snapdragon chipset is now everywhere from HTD HD2, Google Nexus One, Xperia X10 and various Smartbooks announced at CES 2010.
