Android 2.2 update hits ‘HTC Desire’ in Hong Hong

After Singapore, now it is the turn of Hong Kong users to get the Froyo sweetness on their HTC Desire Android phones.

HTC just announced that it has started releasing Android 2.2 update for Desire in Hong Kong.

HTC Desire phones across Hong Kong will receive a notification of FOTA update when it is available. Simply press OK to accept the update via a data connection such as Wi-Fi or GPRS/3G.

As the update will be rolled out in batches, it might take time for it to be available for your phone.

From HTC:

After installing the update, you can confirm a successful update by confirming the Build number (From the Home Screen go to MENU> Settings> About Phone> Software Information> Build number). The new Build number after the update will be 2.11.832.2 Update: Android 2.2 and HTC Sense update. Note: Please back up your data first before upgrading your phone. We recommend using a free Wi-Fi hotspot or an unlimited data plan to apply this update.

As other Asian countries have started receiving Android 2.2 update, we expect it to reach India as well soon.
