KT to launch Android powered ‘Olleh Pad’ in Korea soon


Android powered tablets are everywhere nowadays. Everyone seems to be working on one or the other Android tablet. While Korea’s second largest telecom operator KT is busy in talks with Apple to launch iPad in the country, it is also working on Android powered Olleh Pad. “Olleh” is “hello” written backwards.

7 inch version of the tablet

This Android smartpad is expected to be launched in September officially, reported Telecoms Korea. Enspert, a local device manufacturer seems to be working on this device for KT. Enspert calls it ‘Smartpad’, which will be renamed to Olleh Pad on KT.

8 inch version of the tablet

Olleh Pad comes in two versions, first version has a 8-inch WVGA TFT-LCD, 1 Ghz Samsung processor, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It runs on Android 2.1 and has 8 GB internal storage.
While the second version, comes with Android 2.1, 7-inch WVGA LCD display and 4 GB internal storage. It does not support a 3G network.
