LG to launch Optimus series phones in South Africa, starting with GT540


LG GT540LG today announced that they will be launching Optimus series of Android phones in South Africa. First phone of the series, LG Optimus  aka GT540 will be available shortly.

According to LG the recommended retail price for LG Optimus is R2,499.

This is not all. “South Africa can expect another Android-powered smartphone before the end of the year,” LG said.

Reminding you of the specs, Optimus GT540 comes with a 3 inch resistive display, 3 MP camera, 1500 Mah battery, Android 1.6 ( a disappointment), HSDPA connectivity, 114 internal memory, A-GPS support and Wi-Fi.

    Is that a typo
