Dell Streak to go on sale in Australia from Oct 1

Dell has announced that its first Android tablet attempt, Streak will go on sale in Australia from October 1.

Optus will be the exclusive carrier for the tablet cum smartphone, which will be powered by Android 1.6 on launch, while an update is already in the pipeline. However, Streak is only exclusive for three months, after that it can be sold with any carrier.

The Streak comes with a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display. WiFi, Bluetooth, a 5-megapixel camera for image and video capture and video calling.

Dell Streak will be sold through Optus for $0 upfront at $59 per month over 24 months contract or outright for $649.
