HP will no longer make Android tablets

Last week HP launched Photosmart eStation printer with a detachable Android tablet, well now it seems that was the first and last Android tablet from HP. HP is shelving all the plans to manufacture Android tablets.

It has abandoned a project to launch a smartphone based on Google’s Android open source operating system and there will be no tablet based on the system, Jon Rubinstein, the Palm chief executive who has stayed on to lead HP’s gadgets business said.

So, it is one less manufacturer in the ever growing list of Android tablet makers. Right now, we can not say whose loss is this, Google or HP, which will starting selling its first WebOS based tablet early next year.
