HTC announces Desire HD & Desire Z Android phones; coming this Oct

After several leaks, HTC finally unveiled its ‘Desire HD’ and ‘Desire Z’ Android phones today at an event in London. Keeping faith in its Sense UI, HTC has loaded both the phones with HTC Sense on Android 2.2.

“We’re excited to be taking the HTC Sense experience beyond the phone to a whole new level with a series of connected HTC services we call HTCSense.com,” said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC Corporation. “Our customers will value the holistic approach we’re taking to enhance their mobile experience. This customer-first philosophy has resonated with people buying HTC phones and this drives us to continue introducing new innovative smartphones like the HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z.”

HTC Desire HD:

Loaded with 4.3-inch [800×480 display], a 1GHz processor and an eight-megapixel camera, Desire HD leads the pack of HTC Android phone internationally. It is almost an ‘Evo 4G’ without 4G and front facing camera.

HTC Desire Z:

Another capable looking Android phone from HTC, though a little bit medium on the specifications front. It packs 3.7-inch screen, an 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7230 processor, a five-megapixel camera. Being T-Mobile G2’s international version, it is also the first Android phone to come with HSPA+ capabilities that will help it reach up to 14.4Mbps on 3G networks.

Desire HD and Desire Z Availability:

The new HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z will be broadly available through mobile operators and retailers across major European and Asian markets from October 2010 with the HTC Desire Z shipping in North America later this year.

so, when the desire launches in India (August), a month later the desire *HD* launches in the UK.

By this logic, the Desire HD will get launched in India when the Desire SuperHD is getting launched in the UK…. 😐
