Sharp launches Android e-readers called Galapagos

Sharp has introduced two Android powered e-readers in Japanese market. These will be called Galapagos, and will come with two display sizes of ‘Mobile Type’ 5.5 inch, and 10.8 inch ‘Home Type’.

Mobile Type will coming with a 1024×600 resolution LCD screen, with two color options – red and silver, while Home Type will have 1366×800 resolution HD LCD and will be available in black color. Both the e-readers are Wi-Fi enabled, while company has not released more details.

Sharp has powered these e-readers with a heavily-modified version of Android, without the Android market support, it will launch its own apps compatible with the screen sizes.
