After Gingerbread and Honeycomb, Android’s next version – Ice Cream

If we believe Forbes, then Android’s next version after Honeycomb will be called Ice Cream. While it fits perfectly with the on-going naming circle, it is coming from the president of ARM, Tudor Brown, who is familiar with the Android roadmap. Making it almost certain that next year we will waiting for “Ice Cream” updates :P.

In a written statement to Forbes, a Google spokeswoman said, “The next platform release names are Gingerbread and Honeycomb. Additional timing and details have not been released yet.”

Let’s check out the trend till now

  • Version 1.5 – Cupcake – C
  • Version 1.6 – Donut – D
  • Version 2.1 – Éclair – E
  • Version 2.2 – Froyo – F
  • Version 3.0 – Gingerbread – G  (Yet to come)
  • Version 3.5 – Honeycomb – H (Yet to come)
  • Version 4.0 – Ice Cream – I (Yet to come)

I’m feel crying that x10 is still stuck with Version 2.1 – Éclair – E . Sony Erricson… please update ASAP..Xperia X10 has a good hardware but why so delayed update when world is having the Ice cream. Next time I would rather stick to Google phones only.
