LG delays launch of its Android tablet; coming in CES 2011 [Update]

LG’s upcoming Android tablet “Optimus Pad” has been delayed for long. After playing hide and seek with us, LG seems to have postponed the launch considering software issues. LG is waiting for the a large screen optimized version of Android, which is only going to come with 3.0.
LG Optimus Pad, which was allegedly was going to be unveiled at IFA Trade Fair, but never got launched. LG will probably introduce tablet at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January, reported Bloomberg. While the hardware is ready, LG is still working on the device’s software, agency said.
LG plans to release tablet computers with an operating system optimized for the devices,” the company said in an e- mailed statement in response to queries on the new tablet.

Update: Reuters is reporting that LG has scrapped the plans for Android 2.2 tablet, which matches with our report and LG will now be making an Android 3.0 or Gingerbread based tablet.
