Skype for Android now available in Android Market

After a long wait, it is here. Skype has announced that its official Android app is now available worldwide [expect China & Japan] on phones running Android 2.1 or above.

With the Skype Android app, you can make free Skype-to-Skype calls, and send and receive IMs for free, one-to-one or with a group. You can also call phones at Skype’s great rates – over WiFi or 3G.

Users can download Skype from the Android Market, or from skype.com/m on your phone.
