As anticipated earlier, Acer launched two Android tablets at an event in New York just minutes ago. Both these tablets will have Android’s tablet optimized version [2.3 or 3.0], in Acer’s words – “We don’t want to introduce Android tablet with a phone OS”.
These two Acer Android tablets will have 7 and 10.1 inch displays, and will reach market sometime in April next year, depending on the Android version’s availability. It will become clearer when Gingerbread comes. Company did not disclose the pricing on these tablets.
Talking about the 7 inch tablet, it will come with 1280 x 800 resolution, 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, support of Adobe Flash and more. Similarly 10.1 inch Acer Android tablet will have 1280 x 800 resolution, Dual core 1GHz processor with Flash 10.1, Acer UI 4.5, 5MP rear-facing camera and HD front facing camera and HDMI output (720p).
