Android 2.3 “Gingerbread” SDK is here; brings NFC, large display support and more

Finally, the version we have been waiting for so long has arrived. Official launch will follow later in the day at All Things D: Dive Into Mobile conference, but official Android website has already made the SDK available for download.

Android 2.3 “Gingerbread” SDK Features:

  • SIP-based VOIP
  • Near Field Communications (NFC)
  • Gyroscope and other sensors
  • Multiple cameras support
  • Mixable audio effects
  • Download manager
  • StrictMode
  • UI Framework
  • Support for Extra Large Screens
  • Native access to Activity lifecycle, windows

We are posting updates to this post as soon as we dig more though the SDK.

    can the lg optimus one be updated to 2.3, and are the system requirments same as of froyo 2.2
