Acer to launch Honeycomb tablets in India this March

Acer India today said the company will be launching five Android tablets in the country by March. These tablets will feature different display sizes varying from 4.8 inches to 10 inches.

However, Acer showed off only three tablets at the launch event last year in New York. So we presume that two of these tablets will have a WiFi and a 3G version each, whereas the smaller tablet (with a display size of 4.8 inches) will only have a single 3G version.

Company also added that all of them will be running on Honeycomb, reported TOI.

“Tablets are doing well in India. By December 2011, when the associated services like 3G stabilise, we expect the overall sales of tablets in India to reach the figure of 6,000-8,000 per month,” said S Rajendran, chief marketing officer of Acer India.

He also ducked out the price of 7 inch Acer tablet, which will be sold for around Rs 24,000. Acer is also expected to launch 4-5 Android phones in the second half of the year in India.
