Indian online retailer Infibeam is shipping Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo and Pro phones, which seem be delayed everywhere else in the world. On being inquired about the smartphones, Infibeam sticks to its stand that it is ready to fulfill all the orders and phones are in stock.
On the other hand, Sony Ericsson India is saying that Neo has been delayed till June 11 and it has not authorized Infibeam to sell these smartphones. Similar sentiments were echoed by SE Italy which is too publically stating that Neo has been delayed till Q3 due to crisis in Japan.
Coming back to Infibeam, retailer is selling Neo for INR 24,650, while Xperia Pro is going for a too-good-too-believe price of INR 14,205.
This makes Xperia Pro the first smartphone with 1Ghz processor under INR 15K bracket. It features a 3.7-inch touch screen with 854×480-pixel resolution, 1Ghz Snapdragon processor, a Sony Bravia graphics engine, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, 320MB of internal memory, messaging and e-mail, an FM radio, a personal organizer, Sony Ericsson’s Timescape interface, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB syncing and mass storage, a music player, an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash and HD video recording, and a front-facing 2-megapixel camera.
Xperia Neo comes with a 3.7 inch capacitive display with 854 x 480 resolution, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, Android 2.3 Gingerbread and “Reality Display” with Sony Mobile Bravia Engine.
I will end by saying think twice before ordering the devices from Infibeam.
Update: Infibeam has removed both the products from its website and stopped shipping them.
