Next Honeycomb release to bring new screen compatibility mode for apps

Tired of looking at oddly stretched phone apps on your Honeycomb tablet, a small respite is coming in the next release of Honeycomb probably Android 3.2. Google today announced that a new screen compatibility option will be added along with “Stretch to fill screen”.

Dubbed as “Zoom to fill screen”, this mode will allow you to run app in an emulated normal/mdpi screen (approximately 320dp x 480dp) and scales that up to fill the screen—imagine viewing your app at the size of a phone screen then zooming in about 200%.

This means everything becomes bigger and pixelated, but it is still better than oddly stretched apps.
