Twitter for Android gets major update, brings multiple accounts support

Twitter has released a major update to its official Android application. Termed as version 2.1.0, this update brings the much awaited multiple accounts support to the application.

Now you can add all of your Twitter accounts and seamlessly switch between them.  The new update also brings Push Notifications; – these Push notifications let you instantly receive Twitter updates – no matter what you’re doing on your Android device. You can define automatic refreshing for any of your accounts for tweets, mentions and direct messages.

Twitter has also tweaked the appearance of its home-screen widgets, but you can only select one Twitter account per widget.  The updated Twitter for Android app is now available in Android Market.
