Alcatel selling sub-5K Android smartphones in India

Were you waiting for sub-5000 Android phones to arrive? Well you are in luck. Alcatel is now selling two sub-5K Android smartphones from its OneTouch series in India and you can grab one of them as low as INR 4,000.

The smartphones in mention are Alcatel OT890, and OT890D. While, we never saw these being officially launched, but they seem to be available at One Mobile stores in Big Bazaar.

You get what you pay for, so the specifications of these models aren’t earth shattering.

Alcatel OT-890

  • Android 2.1
  • 2.8 inch resistive display with 320 x 240 pixels resolution
  • 420 MHz processor
  • 2MP camera
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g
  • Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP
  • 150MB Internal Storage

Alcatel OT-890D: It has the same specs as 890, along with FroYo and it is dual-SIM.

  • Android 2.2
  • 2.8 inch resistive display with 320 x 240 pixels resolution
  • 420 MHz processor
  • 2MP camera
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g
  • Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP
  • 150MB Internal Storage

    Bought one OT 890D… a ticket to the world of Android…

    Dual SIM Android… below 5K… AMAAAZZZING…!

    420Mhz processor pack it with ~128Mb ram (most likely) and on top you got outdated Android 2.1. this is the best way to waste your money. also later that same person will tell “never buy Android mobile”.

    420 Mhz is too outdated as of now…..seems to be cupcake/donut period phone…….i wonder if its gonna run any 3rd party app…..

    Instead of such useless phones, alcatel should launch a good phone in 7000Rs range.
