Asus Padfone to sport Ice Cream Sandwich, arriving 2011-end or early-2012

Asus has announced that its upcoming device Padfone will be powered by Ice Cream Sandwich [Android 4.0]. It is expected to go on sale by the end of this year or early 2012.

Asus Padfone, which was announced earlier this year, is a culmination of two devices. It allows phone to be docked in the tablet, and then phone’s content can be read on the tablet and phone can also work as 3G dongle for the tablet.

At the time of the announcement, Asus has said that the tablet in Padfone will come with Honeycomb and smartphone will sport Gingerbread. But, now company is choosing Ice Cream Sandwich because of its better integration across platforms.

Company has also announced that it will launch a Padfone 2 in first half of 2012.

If priced correctly, Asus can succeed with its Padfone where Motorola has failed with its Atrix+Lapdock ! I would like to pick up one after its launched….
