After launching Motorola Fire, Motorola has released a slightly upgraded full-touch version Fire XT in the Indian market. It is now being sold for just INR 12,990.

Announced last month, Fire XT aka XT531 comes with Gingerbread on-board with a 800MHz processor, 1540 mAh battery, 5MP camera rear camera with VGA front cam, 512MB RAM and 3.5 inch HVGA capacitive display.

At INR 13K, Fire XT seems to be a nice option for those who want decent feature in a nice price; it will compete with the likes of Samsung Galaxy Fit, Ace and HTC Wildfire S in this category. It is also one of the cheapest Android smartphone to come with a front camera, so you can look forward to video chat on your phone.

  • 3.5? HVGA display with capacitive multi-touch

  1. Ordered this one from infibeam.com on 4th sept. the price tag was 8,765 RS. now they removed pricetag and changed the status to “comming soon”.
On call, they confirmed that i will be getting this phone on the same delivery date at the same price as written in order invoice bill.
Now i guess ‘m lucky enough.

  2. HVGA on a 3.5″ screen. That must suck!

But the other features, esp the battery are superb for the price

  3. Motorola is on fire. Good to see that the company is launching lot’s of new mobile sets. Defy, Fire, Fire XT and soon to be come Pro+ & Defy+. I have gone through the specs and trust me, except the front camera and big capacity battery it cannot be compared to Wildfire S, LG Optimus 550. There is a basic & minimum expectation from touch screen phones now days and i.e. screen resolution.

Fire XT has a ppi (pixel per inch) of 165 which is quite less than HTC Wildfire S, LG Optimus 550 or let’s says Micomax A70, all having a ppi of 180. More the ppi, better is the resolution, clarity & sharpness of pictures.

Fire XT is available for Rs 13000 online which I believe is on higher side because you can pay Rs 2400 more and can get Defy @ 15400 having excellent resolution with ppi of 265.

  4. @Probal HVGA on 3.5-inch is iPhone 3GS’s screen specs only.. it may not be WVGA.. but far better than galaxy fit and pop…

  5. Motorola phones are really good one. But it is unfortunate that, motorola is stopping its operation in India. I personnaly hope it restarts its function in India soon.
