The number of Honeycomb tablets out there might still be very less -1.8pc of total Android devices to be precise (according to latest Platform Versions data from Google), but they are the biggest consumers of paid apps.
According to a dev, who was attending today’s London Android Developer Tab, Google said that Honeycomb users are most prolific in spending money on app purchases, as you can see in the chart below.
As Google did not give any number, we can’t really compare and see how the growth has been, but it surely is a good sign for developers, who are looking to develop apps for tablets.
According to another developer, Google also highlighted the importance of in-app billing in terms of monetization of apps. Google stated that 7 of the top 10 highest grossing apps on the Market are not even paid apps; they are free apps that incorporate in-app billing. So developers there are ways to make money on Android, you just have to find your way to do so.
