  1. Decent pricing on the A1. But if the price dips to 12kish it will be even better value for money 🙂

  2. But Kindle fire is already available for pre-order for 13000/- from Amazon India, which is dual core and I am sure, someone in XDA developer will port Android 4.0 for it, so I think Kindle Fire is better option than Ideapad A1.

  3. dude, where did u find Amazon india.fire is US only device and depends upon Amazon digital services…

  4. It is with the name of amazonin.tarraz.com, I donnot know if that is Amazon’s official website for india or some proxy, never bought any item from there, but looking forward to purchase kindle fire. That is the reason why it is around 13k with import charges.

  5. Why wasting time talking abt amazon fire. maybe dual core processor. but no camera no android market. wht the use. people want to read lots of books or ya watching movies go for fire but i wait this one when lenovo announced two months back. one of the branded good config one and affordable too. Ideapad A1 rockssssss…….

  6. A1 does not come with 3g ? sad. if they want the tablet to take off they should make it 3g compatible with gsm voice call

  7. I don’t think 3g is so important as of now in india since 3g services are very costly (monthly bill around 1000/- only for data plan) and also it will add 3g hardware and cost to around 3k-4k. Instead, we can use our android phone to tether and use for tablet as well.

Also, since Ideapad A1 hardware is not so strong (only single core processor @1GHz), it will be difficult to run Android 3.2 or 4.0 on it, whereas for Kindle Fire with dual core, it will be smooth running.

On camera, who needs camera on tablet, we can use our smart phone for that purpose.

On Android Market, I don’t think it will be tough to install android market on kindle fire. I am sure the day it will land, the next day you will find Android Market available for it. (There are really excellent talent in XDA developer out there).

  8. @Vishwas If u r interested for a honeycomb tab why u wasting time here. This is a cheaper version for begginers. U have lots of choice like galaxy tab xoom or jetstream. if u don’t need a camera in ur tablet better u buy a digicam. don’t use ur smartphone….:) may be ur choice is totally different from me but this kind of a tablet i ‘m looking for and i am 100% satisfied this one….

  9. I think everyone want a honeycomb tablet including me but at a lower price than what is available today at around 30k in India. But if that can be possible at 13k with kindle fire which I think very much possible, than why not. Why to have soon to be outdated gingerbread tablet, which cannot be upgraded and even if someone makes its upgrade its processor wont be able to handle. That was my point. But if you are desperate to buy ideapad A1, I wont stop you. Good luck

  10. The release date for the A1 tab is stated to be either the 18th or the 20th this month, that is what i have heard.
Also, The price that was quoted for the A1 online by android lovers was about $199, but above it is mentioned as 15k, Although for a tablet that too of lenovo is good enough but to capture the market, the prices should be a few k’s down…..!!!
