After recently releasing QWERTY smartphone Optimus Pro in the country, LG has launched another Android device Optimus Net. There has been no official announcement, but that is not odd considering that we don’t hear from LG India half the time. Looks like they are busy selling TVs and Refrigerators this festive season, rather than marketing their Android phones.

LG India official website already lists Optimus Net and the smartphone has started reaching retail store and can also be purchased from online store Flipkart. Being an entry-level device, company has priced it decently; it will cost you INR 9,999.

For spending almost 10K, you get a 3.2 inch capacitive display, Android 2.3, 3MP camera, 800MHz processor, 1500mAh battery, 150MB internal storage and the usual WiFi, Bluetooth and microSD card slot.

LG has put its own UI over Gingerbread in the smartphone and must have pre-loaded some crappy apps. At the time of original handset debut in in July, LG has suggested a dual-SIM variant for Asia, but it seems company retracted from that thought, so Optimus Net version in India is a single SIM phone.

We spent some time with the device a Qualcomm event in the past, and the device seems decent, touchscreen and overall response was pretty nice for an entry-level phone. Although, it feels a little plasticy but one really cannot expect a high-end hardware at this price range.

Those of you still waiting to buy an Android phone this device, you can surely add Optimus Net to your list of choices.

  1. s its avail in both the sites… but u read in softpedia in one of the link it stated asia they are lauching with dual sim in india. the author must confirm did he write optimus net is launched as single sim aft seeing specs in flipkart? or is it true optimus net is single sim only

  2. Prabal u mad man ? this is way better phone than the Galaxy Y , Bigger screen , better resoultion , more ram , Better CPU i know thats 832 but thats very shitty cpu with a gpu this is a good cpu which comes with adereno 200 GPU .
please know the facts before mouthing off

  3. Galaxy Y’s display has half the pixels (240 x 320 px), and is smaller (3″ vs 3.2″).

Makes a big difference in usability and application support.

  4. galaxy lacks in camera too…but display doesnt lag too much…LG is 320×400…some appas may lack…but galaxy is less priced…had this been dual sim it wud have been gr8…bet optimus & optimus net only processor speed has been upgraded…rest all features…friends stream integration all they cud have done thru OS & apss upgradtion….virtually this optimus net is not so worth whn thru galaxy u just compromise on camera & screen resolution it depends on ur requirement & usage…yet if u r ready to compromise on resolution and get apps installed thru android market u can easily save 3600rs and get the best mobile in form of Galaxy Y which has higher processor say 833mhz Compared to optimus net 800mhz

  5. u guys are dumb thats an 833 mhz which is a very very old gen ARM 11 processor the optimus one with 600 will easily out perform galaxy Y , Forget net .
