HTC launches Sensation XL in the India for INR 38,799

HTC India has launched its second Beats Audio Android phone Sensation XL in country today. Company has priced it at a hefty INR 38,799 (best buy price, MRP is INR 39,990), making it the most expensive Android phone pricing till date in India. Sensation XL will be available in stores country-wide soon.

HTC Sensation XL features a 1.5GHz processor, a whopping 4.7 inch display with 800X480p resolution, and Android 2.3. While Sensation XL specifications seem great, display resolution and RAM are slight disappointments. 1GB RAM has become the standard for quite some time for high-end Android devices, but Sensation XL is struck with 768MB, and in terms of display resolution 720p displays are in, HTC could have at-least put a qHD screen. You can check out the full specs list below.

“With Beats Audio, the HTC Sensation XL continues HTC’s commitment of delivering the best audio possible on your phone whether you’re listening to music, watching a movie or playing a game. This is an amazing example of why our partnership with Beats makes so much sense for customers today and into the future.”

– Faisal Siddiqui, Country Head, HTC India

Thanks to the poor rupee value for last some days, companies have started pricing their devices higher than usual and Sensation XL is just an example, if we don’t see a correction in rupee value soon upcoming launches will disappoint us because of hefty price tags.

HTC Sensation XL Features:

  • Qualcomm MSM 8255 1.5GHz processor
  • 768MB RAM
  • Android 2.3 with HTC Sense
  • 16GB Internal storage
  • 8MP rear camera with dual LED flash
  • 1.3MP front camera
  • 1600 mAh battery
  • DLNA, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS

38k only for audio? over priced! this phone cost should be 28k i think they miss typed as 2 as 3 lol, good processor 1.5ghz but single core :/ not bad with RAM if in-build software runs without user shared ram, good internal memory :/ but no external card slot bad.

This Phone is too costly, who would purchase it for 38k.. HTC should read the market first and then release it. They should release this phone around 25k, then it would get good sales.

Its too costly.. I already have HTC Desire HD got for Rs. 28K in Bangalore and its my 3rd HTC phone.. had HTC P3400i, Touch2… Sense UI is awesome compare to all other Android phones likes from Samsung/LG etc.. One thing I am very much disappointed is with its worst customer support here in India.. Looks like they have outsourced support task to some company in Delhi and whatever issue you report, blindly they will suggest you to ‘Hard Reset’ the phone.. I wrote couple of times to HTC but they are also not interested in resolving the issue… Desire HD comes with handful number of inherent software/hardware issues especially with Dolby Digital mode during audio playback, music playlist management, extremely slow SMS list display, difficulty in pairing with Bluetooth headset, issue with GPRS connectivity etc.. Hope it helps for those who planning to buy the overpriced phone…

i wont buy that even for 28k … i doubt HTC will succeed in selling even 1 device @ 38k

seems they want to compete with Apple 4S. if Apple 4S with, 512MB, non-720p screen can be 45k, why not? wake up HTC.

real overpriced and non justification what so ever(just for audio thingy??)… HTC is not interested in selling phones anymore?

    (November 29, 2011 - 6:36 pm)

This is crazy….single core processor, WVGA resolution (which looks even more horrible on 4.7″ screen), and it is expensive than SGS2, Droid RAZR, galaxy Note, sensation XE…….Can’t understand this pricing strategy…

    (November 29, 2011 - 5:48 pm)

lol.. no 1 GB RAM? no gud screen? no dual core? then why the f**k it is 37k.? Galaxy note,s2 are faaaaaar better

    (November 29, 2011 - 3:52 pm)

Why it is priced more than Sensation XE?
Sensation XE is more advanced phone than SL!!

    (November 29, 2011 - 3:52 pm)

    heart breaking price.

    (November 29, 2011 - 2:51 pm)

its better to by Samsung Note, its bigger, thinner and cheaper,, lol

    (November 29, 2011 - 2:30 pm)

Yeah it’s over priced and the only good thing it carries is a bigger display with a poor resolution of 800 x 480p, it can’t even shoot full HD videos as well as no external card slot, plus at this cost internal storage should be at least 32 GB…..

Are you sure it’s dual core? I have read single core every where.

Yes, it is single core not dual core. My mistake .. corrected it now. Thanks for pointing that out.

    (November 29, 2011 - 1:33 pm)

No one will prefer this over priced shit…..

    (November 29, 2011 - 1:09 pm)

    Terribly overpriced, shame HTC…
    Midrange Rhyme for 24k
    now Highmidrange SXL for 40k..
HTC – High price for Terrible & Crap..

    (November 29, 2011 - 1:00 pm)
