Philips launches universal speaker docks for Android phones in UK

Philips has released its Fidelio range of Android speaker docks in United Kingdom. It is surprisingly true that there weren’t any solutions so far and these are the first speakers can be used with Android smartphones from any manufacturer.

Philips first showcased them at IFA trade fair and these have been available in US for some time. UK launches include AS851, smaller AS351 and alarm clock AS111. These start for as low as £70 for AS111 and go up to £199 for AS851.

The music is transferred to the dock via Bluetooth, not as one would expect it to come via USB port in the case of a dock. These speaker docks do have microUSB ports, but they are only used for charging your smartphone, and Philips proprietary app Fidelio is used to stream the music to dock via Bluetooth.

These speaker docks are available from today in UK from stores like Currys and PC World.
