Samsung Galaxy Note with S PenSamsung India has launched its smartphone/tablet hybrid Galaxy Note at a press event today. This large-screen smartphone, which can double up as your mini tablet, has been priced at INR 34,990 (MRP) and will be available in stores soon.

First announced at IFA trade fair, Samsung Galaxy Note is company’s attempt to bridge the gap between smartphones and tablets and also to provide a device for every size. On the similar lines, company has already introduced tablets with 7 inch, 7.7 inch, 8.9 inch, 10.1 inch displays and smartphones with 4.5 inch, 4.27 inch and 4 inch displays. Samsung Galaxy Note is also company’s first Android device to come with stylus or S-Pen support and it has bundled several S-Apps which come with deep integration of the stylus support. Galaxy Note also comes with a 1.4GHz dual core processor, and 1GB RAM, no disappointments here either.

On the software front, Samsung has loaded Gingerbread with Touchwiz 4.0 on the device and it will be getting the Ice Cream Sandwich update sometime early next year.  The early reviews coming from Europe suggest that Galaxy Note outscores Galaxy S II on several occasions during benchmarks.

For all the shutter-bugs, it features 8MP rear camera along with a LED Flash and 2MP front shooter for Google/Skype video chats. In terms of nitty-gritties, you also get 16GB internal memory, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi, GPS, HSPA+ connectivity, and a huge 2500 mAh battery.

  1. Tooo expensive specialy keeping in mind the Quality of Network available in India………….After all its just a phone

  2. Thats great… Though a bit higher on the price range… still a good one to buy… Waiting for availability ….

  3. I will wait for the price to drop to say 20K. I can get a 42″ HD plasma for 34K 🙂

  4. Definitely gonna buy it, its a bargain considering that a 32 GB iPhone 4 goes for 39 K in India. The Galaxy S 2 is 29 K and for 6 K more I get a bigger, better screen, more battery life and the S Pen.

  5. I’ve got my model since the begin of this week. Love it, I think the Netherlands have the primiere of the Galaxy Note release. It fits in my pocket, what I didn’t expect in the first place.

The S-Pen stylus is fun to use, but not neccessary imo!

  6. the only thing that interests me is … hardware of Note > Galaxy Nexus … which will mean …price of Note > Galaxy Nexus … so Galaxy nexus for around 30k would be like “it can’t get any better than this”

  7. Well hardwarewise the Note blows the Nexus out of the water….
The only hardware advantage of the Galaxy Nexus over the S2 was its screen and this phone has both of them beat…

  8. Will have to thow away my s2..now what? Nexus prime or Note? hmm….or wait another moth and damn samsung releases. samsung note 3d with 1080p HD screen…One has to be a billionare to caych up with releases.

  9. Rs 35,000 might be expensive in India but if you compare the price in global market, it’s coming way too cheap. 3500 = $700 and Samsung note is actually priced at $1100 = 55000. So, you’re already getting it for Rs 20,000 less. Cheer up guys..

It’s a damn good mobilet. I have waiting for it. Unfortunately, I am gonna miss this cheap price in India and have to go for a 2 year contract.

  10. Well I was waiting for this since August….so I WILL buy this COME WHAT MAY and as KALYAN mentioned its Quite CHEAP in INDIA compared to US n Europe….
    There’s a Difference of atleast 7-8k between their prices n ours n there’s a difference of 10k in some cases…
    Good to go Samsung..m/

  11. my friend bought it 2 days back and it is just awesome………i am also planning to buy it soon….
