HTC is likely to be the second manufacturer after Sony Ericsson (now Sony) to get PlayStation certification for its Android smartphones and tablets. According to a report in Pocket Lint, an announcement in this regard is likely to be made at the upcoming Mobile World Congress.
Sony PlayStation certification program was first announced around a year ago and was meant to take PS experience beyond PSP border.
From original PLAYSTATION SUITE press release:
… “PlayStation Certified” license program for hardware manufacturers… will offer necessary support, including development support as well as logo licensing, to ensure the delivery of PlayStation quality experience across various devices.
The first HTC smartphones with PS certification are expected in the second half of this year. This step will give a much needed boost to HTC, which has been struggling with its smartphones sales recently and has been facing a lot of competition from Samsung and Apple.
