Last week, we told you about a soak test that was being done for the United States version of the Motorola Xoom WiFi. At the time, details were a bit cloudy as to what the update actually encompassed. Now, the cat is out of the bag and Android 4.0.4 is making its way out to the device.

After downloading and installing the software release, you will notice:
Quicker screen rotation
A new setting to choose whether the power button immediately locks the device or not
Microsoft Exchange improvements with additional EAS policies
Better phone number recognition
Camera and image quality improvements
While no word has been issued from Motorola surrounding ICS updates for Xoom’s from other locales, we will surely let you know as soon as details leak. With the US model getting its time in the spotlight, it can’t be much longer before the rest of the world gets its turn.
