Readability will be releasing its official Android app on Monday and it will be available exclusively in Amazon Appstore for the first week. Google Play will be getting it next week.
According to The Verge, which had access to a pre-release version of the app, it was left impressed and liked the typography-based UI. Among the competitors, we already have Read It Later Android app in Google Play and Readability will surely help in giving us some choice.
Readability told Verge that it has gone to great lengths to optimize the app for Kindle Fire users and has utilized the large display very well. So, you won’t be getting an enlarged phone app but a perfectly-sized tablet app.
From Readability Blog:
We went to great lengths to bring the same polished, content-centric experience in iOS to Android devices. It sports the same beautiful typography by Hoefler & Frere-Jones and even scales up nicely to handle larger Android devices like the Kindle Fire.
You should be able to grab the app starting 11AM ET on Monday.
