ViewSonic ViewPhone 3 debuts in India for INR 9,990

ViewSonic has announced the launch of their dual-SIM Android smartphone ViewPhone 3 in the Indian market. Powered by Android 2.3, it will be sold for INR 9,990 in the country.

ViewPhone 3 features 800MHz processor, 3.5 inch 480x320p resolution capacitive display, 5MP rear camera, 512MB of RAM, 512MB of internal memory and 1500 mAh battery.

Company has partnered with Reliance Digital to sell this dual-SIM phone at its outlets in the country. It will join the already existing dual-SIM smartphones from Samsung, LG, Micromax and Spice in under INR 10,000 price segment.

We spent some time with the smartphone and it worked decently. Device seemed a little laggy at first because of the 3D UI pre-loaded by the company, but after putting a third party launcher, that lag was gone. Browsing experience was also fine. One of the plus points for the smartphone is multi-touch support but the poor resolution of the display mars the experience.

well i bought viewphone 3 from reliance digital pune 2 months back, and belive me it is the worst phone iv’e ever bought in my life. the phone hangs every now and then, goes dead . and won’t come back unless u remove and replace the battery.very slow. proximity sensor doesn’t work and in the middle of the call , it puts u r call on hold.secondly there are no service centers of this phone in india, when i spoke to reliance digital guys , they said we are helpless, and can’t do anything.

don’t buy this phone, i’ve wasted 9000 bucks . worst mobile company

regina launcher? good way to kill that 800Mhz processor. good doing viewsonic.

this one have exact same spec as Motorola Fire XT. i feel both are manufactured by same ODM. both looks so similar.

According official google devs 1GHz Dual core processors with 512 Mb RAM is needed to run ICS smoothly on your droid….

But as per the cyanogenmod community if u have 256 MB RAM or more and also good GPU then ur device can handle modded version of ics easily…

@Anamika : ICS would be an issue with 800MHz and 512 RAM.. Plus no idea of the onboard storage.

You can get LG Optimus I (P-500) with assured better performance.

Also, bigger players like Samsung and HTC are still building custom ICS ROMs for their devices. It will be sometime before company like ViewSonic is given a chance with OEM build.

On XDA you can find ICS for optimus one hence 800 mhz should not be an issue. I am using NXG A10 tablet with 512MB RAM ICS works fine.

Specs are very good. Should have come with ICS it would have been a killer mobile.
