Another HTC dual-SIM Android pops up in India – Desire VC

After releasing dual-SIM Android Desire V in the country, HTC India is back with Desire VC – a GSM+CDMA Android smartphone similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Ace Duos.

HTC Desire VC has popped up on Snapdeal/Flipkart and features Android 4.0. It also sports 4-inch display with WVGA resolution, 1GHz processor, 5MP camera, and 4GB of internal storage.

The smartphone has been priced at INR 21,999, which is same as Desire V.

In a country where dual-SIM devices are very popular, HTC is doing a right thing by launching two devices, but the pricing is still very important and company seems to have forgotten that.

At INR 21,999, Desire VC is very far from the comfort region of dual-SIM buyers.

How Desire VC is a good smartphone to buy for heavy data users (apart from the pricing):

EVDO is still the cheapest way to get lots of data in the country with decent download speeds and if you are a heavy user, you can pop in one CDMA data SIM for data usage and using your regular GSM SIM for voice calling and SMS etc.

Desire VC specs

  • Android v4.0
  • 5 MP Primary Camera
  • 4-inch Capacitive Touchscreen
  • 1 GHz Cortex-A5 Processor
  • FM Radio
  • Wi-Fi Enabled
  • Expandable Storage Capacity of 32 GB

Update: Saholic seems to be selling the smartphone for just INR 20,950.
