Sending the ten-inch HTC tablet rumour on the back-foot, the Flyer successor is back in the focus. The Flyer 2 tablet was first heard back in July.
According to a report on Phone Arena, HTC Flyer 2 will come with Qualcomm S4 processor, 7-inch display with 1280x768p resolution, 3MP rear camera, 1MP front camera, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The tablet will have anodized aluminium body with just 7.1mm thickness.
The tablet is being aimed at Google’s Nexus 7 and Amazon’s upcoming Kindle Fire 2. It might not compete totally on specs, but HTC Flyer 2 certainly seems like a decent balance of hardware and design on paper. The pricing would certainly be a deciding factor, as one of the major factors in the failure of its other tablets was the price.
There is no word on the stylus support or the launch timing, but it would be great to see the tablet at the upcoming September 19 press event.
We have also seen a Tegra 3 powered HTC Vertex tablet in the past on a benchmarking website, but nothing else was reported on it later. May be, it is the same tablet but HTC has replaced Tegra 3 with S4.
What do you guys think?
