The best of upcoming Android smartphones in India

It has been over a fortnight since the conclusion of IFA Trade fair. We saw quite a few new Android device announcements at the event and the first devices from IFA should be landing in the country very soon. We have put together a list of some of the best Android smartphones that are going to be launched in India in the coming weeks.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2

It isn’t your typical smartphone. Samsung had carved a new product category “phablets” with the launch of original Note and we are going to see its successor. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is already up for pre-booking on Samsung’s official e-store and Snapdeal. According to our sources and the product listing on Snapdeal, it will become available in the first week of October, while the actual India launch will be happening on September 27th.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 features Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 5.5-inch Super AMOLED HD display, 1.6GHz quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, 8MP rear camera, 1.9MP front camera and a 3,100mAh battery on-board. There is no word on the price right now.

LG Optimus G

One of the best LG smartphones, Optimus G was originally showcased at IFA and went on sale in Korea this week. It has some really great hardware coupled with ICS.  LG has also partnered with some of its subsidiaries to include some cool tech in the phone. LG Optimus G has an innovative battery with a lifespan of 800 cycles, and True HD IPS+ display that is capable of generating 470 nits of brightness while consuming 70 percent less power.

The Optimus G features 1.5GHz quad-core processor Qualcomm APQ 8064, Android 4.0, 4.7-inch 1280x768p True HD IPS+ display, 2GB RAM, 13-megapixel camera and 2100 mAh battery.

No word on the price of this either, but considering how Optimus 4X HD was priced aggressively, it can follow suit.

HTC Desire X

Not a super phone, but HTC’s Desire X is a quite decent mid-range smartphone.  There is no exact date of launch for this HTC phone, but it should not take much time to reach India.

HTC Desire X features 4-inch Super LCD WVGA display, 5MP rear camera, dual-core 1GHz Qualcomm S4 processor, 5MP camera with HTC ImageChip (f/2.0, 28mm wide-angle lens, BSI sensor, HDR mode), 768MB RAM, and 1600 mAh battery.

We can expect this to be priced around INR 21,000.

LG Optimus L9

Another decent looking mid-range smartphone that should make its India debut soon LG Optimus L9 is a part of the company’s L-Style range. We already have L3, L5 and L7 in the country.

LG has bundled some new apps in the smartphone like QTranslator, MY Style Keypad and QMemo.

LG Optimus L9 features 1GHz dual-core processor, 4.7-inch IPS display, 1GB RAM, 5MP rear camera and high-density 2150 mAH SiO+ battery.

No word on the pricing.

Sony Xperia J

Among the budget smartphones Sony Xperia J should be landing the country shortly.  Featuring a nice-looking design, Xperia J comes with 4-inch display (854×480 pixels resolution).

It also sports 1GHz Qualcomm processor, 512MB RAM, 5MP camera, VGA front camera, and Android 4.0.

There is no official word on the price.

All these Android smartphone will be releasing in India in the coming weeks and as usual we will let you know as and when that happens.
