Motorola was awarded a rare win over Microsoft in patent lawsuit on Friday, when a Germany court ruled that the Google- owned company did not infringe Windows-maker’s one patent.
The Mannheim today found Motorola not infringing on EP1233343, which deals with “method and radio interface layer comprising a set of application programming interfaces (APIs).”
This was the last of patent related decisions dealing with Microsoft-Motorola to arrive this year. Microsoft has already won three patent cases against Motorola and today’s was the only one in favour of Motorola.
“This decision does not impact multiple injunctions Microsoft has already been awarded and has enforced against Motorola products in Germany,” David Howard, associate general counsel at Microsoft told Reuters.
Germany has been a major battlefield of patent lawsuits this year, with Samsung, Apple, HTC, Motorola, and Microsoft – all fighting their patent wars in the German courts.
