Nexus 4 coming to Asia including India beginning end of November

LG built Nexus 4 is official, but everyone wants to know when it is coming to their country. Well, Google has already revealed that US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Spain and Australia will first to receive this flagship smartphone on November 13 via Google Play.

Rest of the world should not worry, according to an LG issued press release; the offline availability of Nexus 4 will start in the end of November. Company added that countries in Europe, Central/South Americas, Asia, CIS and the Middle East will get the smartphone starting the end of November.

We guess the prominent markets will be first to get this offline availability of Nexus 4. As India is a prominent market and even an LG executive has already confirmed that Nexus 4 will land in India by end of November; we are hoping to see Nexus 4 reaching India by the end of next month.

There is no word on the pricing, but considering LG and Google have gone so aggressive in US with unlocked 8GB unit at just $299, we are expecting Nexus 4 to sell around INR 20K in India.

Here is the complete statement from LG:

Nexus 4 is sold unlocked and is GSM/HSPA+ compatible so it will operate on more than 200 network providers worldwide. Just pop in a supported SIM card and be up and running in no time. It will be available to purchase in both an 8GB version and a 16GB version on Google Play starting November 13 in the US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Spain and Australia. Offline availability in Europe, Central/South Americas, Asia, CIS and the Middle East will begin from the end of November.

This phone could cost us between 23k to 25k(16Gb).. Features comparable with Galaxy SIII and 10k cheaper. Its any day a VFM phone. A sure grab for people looking for the latest smart(er) phone at affordable price tag. A sure hit for LG. (My next phone Nexus 4 🙂 )

@dhruv patil- my frnd is up there on a student visa dude.. he is studying.. he doesnt have tht much of money.. as 13 $ is not much dude.. its 600 around only..
    @santosh – do ur math my frnd.. 550 usd =29 k ( currently 1usd = 53 rs) and india main they r selling for 34k
    so its 5 k plus tht u r talking abt.. coming back to nexus 4, 350 usd means 21k add a 5k to it easily n it will be 26-27k . plus all the shit tht u buy ( screenguard n all ) = 28k pakka !!!!

i don’t think it’ll be as high as 27k .That would be insanely high when compared to the actual price of it in us…….i think 21-22k would be pretty decent price for it and would sell well in Indian market(not saying can’t afford higher price, but many customers in India don;t give a lot of shit for cell phones when they are buying it)………..and i don’t think we should bring in the pricing pattern of s3 here as it is from a completely different company…we should rather check out the pricing history of lg products in india…(and 350usd=18886rs or around 19k and not 21k….)

UK Price for S3 = £390.90 which is INR 33,913.2722. They are selling it here for 34,900.
UK Price for N4 = £239 which is INR 20,734.8991.

Using cross multiplication, ((20734.8991*34900)/33913.2722), we get 21338.1039

        So, around 21,338. ~21,340

    Galaxy S3 16GB US price is $550 (amazon.com) and India price is 34900 (flipkart.com)

Using this analogy my guess is

Nexus 4 16GB US price is $350 then India price will be max 22050.

i got my frnd comin from the us in dec.
he said that it will cost me 350 (16 gb model ) = apprx 20-30 dollars tax on checkout plus 13 dollars it will cost me to transfer into his bank account
so overall around 390-400 usd which is anyday cheaper than wht they will release in india..
m so sure i will end up saving 4-5 k
    wht say ppl ??? 😛

      (October 30, 2012 - 5:32 pm)

if your friend is coming to india with the device ,then why don’t you tell him to pay for you and pay him when he comes to india rather than transferring your money??(you would save 13$ although not much ,but still u could get it cheaper or not)
well, some lg official said it would be around 20k in india(don’t know if it is inclusive of tax)so buying it from your friend will do no harm to you i suppose…..

Beware of the waranty terms if u r getting it from xyz place. you will have to send it there for repairs as lg does not have global warranty.

      (November 22, 2012 - 4:16 pm)

@ Arnav: you will not get handset warranty, which according to me is worth 3 to 4 k

It will not be less than 25K, the main reasons are :

    1) Google’s Nexus device is already in the market and it solds around 18-25K in grey market, So if they lower the price of Nexus 4 than no body will purchase Nexus model.

    2) LG has also introduced Optimus G phone with almost the same specs with some minor difference and it will be around 30K, so if people think it is too much than they will go with Nexus 4 and at the end it will be problem for LG to sell Optimus G.

And i think LG will put 25K price tag because until now they have not done much in mobile market and after nexus 4 it will be their era so they will start to make profit from this devices..

So it will be a heart break for indians if it’s price will be above 23K.. Hope for the BEST…

Galaxy Nexus wasn’t officially launched, and anyway it was made by Samsung. I doubt LG would care about Samsung’s sales. After all the only reason why Galaxy Nexus wasn’t launched here was to protect the sales of S2 and Advance and the like. The minor differences include SD card support. Most people want that. And Optimus G isn’t officially available here either.
