Android 4.1 now on 2.7 per cent of Android devices

Google has released their monthly platform version numbers earlier today and they show Jelly Bean gaining some share. The Android version, which was earlier on 1.8 per cent of the devices, is now on 2.7 per cent, and this growth is likely to go up in the coming weeks as both HTC and Samsung are already releasing Android 4.1 updates for their flagship models.

Ice Cream Sandwich has also gone up from 23.7 per cent last month to 25.8 per cent right now. With more and more devices getting ICS every day, Gingerbread is slowly losing its share, but it does not seem to be losing the top spot anytime soon. It is currently 54.2 per cent of devices down from 55.8 per cent.

Here is a look at other Android versions:

  • Cupcake: 0.1 per cent
  • Donut: 0.3 per cent
  • Éclair: 3.1 per cent
  • Froyo: 12 per cent
  • Honeycomb: 1.8 per cent
