Update: Karbonn has made the launch official just now. A30, which was until available at e-retailers for INR 10,990, has got the MRP for INR 12,990.
“By devising the Karbonn A30 – Ta Fone, our endeavour is to form the world’s first 5.9” screen smartphone which blurs the differentiation between a Tablet and a Smartphone and creates a hybrid category of devices which is sure to see a lot of buzz in times to come,” said Shashin Devsare,Executive Director, Karbonn Mobiles.
Earlier: Don’t wait for Samsung or Huawei to launch 6-inch smartphones, Indian manufacturer Karbonn has silently released an Android phone with 5.9-inch (yes, that big) display. Dubbed as Karbonn A30, this dual-SIM phone has been priced at INR 10,990 in the country and is currently listed on Saholic.com. The smartphone is expected to go on sale on December 17.
A30 also comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 1GHz dual-core processor, 8MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera and 2500 mAh battery. The usual connectivity options like 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi are also present in the smartphone.
There is no word on the display resolution but we don’t think, it will be more than WVGA or qHD at the pricing.
Available in Silver and White, Karbonn A30 is biggest display sporting phone in the country right now, but if reports are accurate, we will soon see phones with even bigger display from the like of Huawei and Samsung.
