Asus Padfone 2 successor launching at MWC: Report

Asus is reportedly planning to launch an upgraded version of Padfone 2 at the upcoming Mobile World Congress. This Taiwanese maker will also introduce other large-screen smartphones at this event, reports Digitimes.

The publication did not reveal any other details about the upcoming device, but we can expect a full-HD display along with a quad-core S4 Pro processor.

1 million Asus Padfone 2 units sold

Asus Padfone 2 seems to be getting a lot attention from the consumers. According to Taiwanese supply chain makers, nearly 1 million units of this phone-cum-tablet have been shipped globally.  There is no way to authenticate this number, as it is coming from supply chain sources, not Asus itself.

Padfone 2 is currently sold in select countries, so even the 1 million unit shipments are a lot for this smartphone.

To remind you, Asus Padfone 2 comes with 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 4.7-inch HD display, 13MP rear camera, and 3G support. The Padfone dock also includes a battery and 10.1-inch display.
