Google Search update brings new Google Now cards, widget

Google has released a new update for Google Search app, which brings new Google Now cards and makes the recently leaked Google Now widget a reality. The update is available in Google Play right now, download using this link or directly from your Android device. As most of the new functionality in this update is for meant for Jelly Bean users, other versions users won’t get anything from the update.

According to a blog post by Google, with this update Google Now can now show movie ratings and details from Rotten Tomatoes, bring up you movie passes from Fandango, show real estate listing and more.

Apart from the new cards, Google has improved some of the existing cards like you can now specify the mode of transport for commute like Walking, Car, and Public Transit etc.

This is also the first time that Google has released a widget for Google Now. As all widgets, it can be added to the home-screen and it will display all the relevant information right there.

“When Google Now first launched last summer, we promised it was just the beginning, and it would continue to get better at delivering you more of the information you need, before you even ask. This is the fourth update since launch, and we’re just getting started,” Google noted in the blog post.
