Huawei to launch Ascend P2 Mini at MWC with 4-inch 720p display

Huawei seems to be planning to launch a mini version of Ascend P2 along with normal sized P2 at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2013. The mini version will come with a 4-inch 720p display instead of 4.7-inch 1080p display in Ascend P2.

Not many details are currently available about this supposed mini model, but according to a report on MyDrivers.com, the smartphone will come with an 8MP rear camera and Jelly Bean.  There is no word on RAM or processor, but we are expecting at least 1GB RAM and a dual-core processor in the smartphone.

A 4-inch display with 1280x720p resolution would certainly be great for anyone not willing to buy the huge smartphones with 5-inch or 4.7-inch display. The smaller size will also give it better PPI (367 in this case).Huawei-Ascend-P2

In related news, MyDrivers.com is also reporting the supposed specs of Ascend P2 smartphone. The display will be a 4.7-inch, which was unconfirmed till now. Other features would include a 2200 mAh battery, 1.8GHz quad-core processor from Huawei, 1GB/ 2GB RAM (two versions), 13MP rear camera, and Android 4.1.

The phone will be sold with a variety of back cover colours options. The publication is also reporting the phone to come with a very thin bezel and just 8.5mm thick body.

Both the smartphones will be announced at Mobile World Congress on February 24.
