Wireless charging will soon be present in almost all flagship smartphones and it makes sense that the manufacturers to start focussing on wireless chargers. After a beautiful Nexus 4 wireless charger, LG has now announced the so-called world’s smallest wireless charger – WCP-300 today.
Despite the small size, company claims that the charging area on WCP-300 is 1.7 times wider than company’s previous generation wireless charger.
“The WCP-300 employs electromagnetic induction technology and is Qi certified by the Wireless Power Consortium. Electromagnetic induction produces a magnetic field that in turn generates an electric current to charge the batteries in devices placed on the charging pad. Certification ensures that the WCP-300 is compatible with all smartphones that support the Qi standard,” LG noted in a press release.
WCP-300 will support Nexus 4, LG Spectrum 2, Optimus G Pro, vu II and LTE II smartphones among others.
The charger will arrive this week in South Korea for 65,000 won (roughly $60). It also scheduled to be released in other markets in the coming weeks.
