Micromax A116 Canvas HD Android phone goes on sale (Update: Back in stock)

As promised, Micromax has started selling the dual-SIM Android phablet A116 on its official website at 0000hrs today. Priced at INR 13,990, the smartphone is carrying an expected shipping time of five days.

Micromax has partnered with Snapdeal.com to fulfil the A116 orders. As traditionally Indian (or any) consumers have loved to check out the device first before buying, the question mark over the retail availability is likely to hamper the Canvas HD sales, but we expect the company to move to normal retail channels soon. Here is a direct link to buy A116 from Snapdeal.

Part of Micromax’s Canvas series, A116 Canvas HD is the successor company’s very successful A100 Canvas and A110 Canvas 2 smartphones. A116 packs some impressive specs, but the real world performance remains to be tested. We will try and get hold of a review unit to do a full review in the coming days.

Micromax A116 Canvas HD key specs

  • 5-inch 1280x720p IPS display
  • 1.2GHz MediaTek quad-core processor
  • 8MP rear camera
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
  • Dual-SIM support
  • 4GB of internal storage
  • 1GB RAM
  • Front camera
  • 2100 mAh battery

Update: Micromax A116 is sold out in just 15 mins of going on sale. Company has promised to bring more stock soon. We will update the post as soon as we hear something.

Update 2: It is back in stock

@adithya u r saying that mmx is not branded just bcoz it is an indian company.. Well then to be very precise INDIA has more genius’ den anywhere in the world… Nasa has most indian scientist… N wen ur samsung n apple just raised dere companies they were also non branded…
N talk abt apple.. Lets say i5 it doest have flash reader.. No blutooth for file transfers… The cant download any thing directly from browser.. Same ui from past 4 years.. (just a piece of shit)(made in china too n even the single spare part is made in china including the processor chips)
N whom are u laughing on u think u r some kinda supirior personality.. Only u can use note n apple here… Buddy most of them has used then n even owed them… Wen samsung realised the consumer products in its own country the company was once forced to shut there company n product.. If mmx is realised atleast support it.. Like u r supportin a korean company which also makes its products in china… N for ur kind info m using note , i had i4, n now moving to mmx…n it is an MNC nOW…

if ur using ss note. i don’t care which phone u use…. that’s upto u.
and for iCrapple is concerned its spare parts are supplied by Samsung including processor chips, display, battery etc. they are not made in china. they are made in Samsung’s Texas manufacturing unit. don’t post anything that comes to ur mind.

@adithya : You must be having a lot of money to waste on iPhone and Samsung Phone and for your kind information even iPhone is made in China, so first check your own mobile details and BRAND history than talk about this.

About micromax : They have taken a really good step in inovation and competition in the market, now Samsung and other company will follow and will get nice phone with great feature in mid range.

no FullHD video recording, No gorilla glass.
for me, gorilla glass is a must have feature for a 5-incher phone. I know its having 294PPi pixel density.but still its a LCD screen.
hope GSMarena will review this phone soon.

Dear, it is that the naive and low iq guys like you that the top brands keep making thier huge profits, and really worth of the products they make are forced to under sell thier products,
I have used iphone, ipad, samsung note, etcetc, I also have a micromax ninja a87 which I purchased at 5900 rs. Runs android 2.3 gb has onky 100mb internal mem. Coz they need
Sell low price, with these constraints the instrument works superb, no hang, no failures, super outer finish, no scratches I must say micromax is a better product then so called ” branded” makes, I salute the micromax team and wish them best, I will surely buy the
A116 as I think it is a great phone, just dont go by names use head..

u know HTC fones are made in mainland china n not in taiwan.
so does apple. samsung n lg fones r made in south korea.

my point is…i’ve a shiny sea shell i found at a beach in indonesia. i can put a brand sticker of any company on earth if only you’d buy it from me for Rs 1,00,00,000 /- .

I bet u get my point
