Samsung has begun selling its Wi-Fi only Galaxy Tab 2 311 in India starting today. This Jelly Bean powered tablet is now available via company’s official e-store for INR 13,900. The tablet will join its 3G counter-part Galaxy Tab 2 310 in the country, which has been in the market for almost nine months now. The 3G version currently retails for around INR 19,000.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 311 features the same specifications as 3G version apart from missing 3G support. The tablet comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean pre-loaded, 7-inch 1024x600p display, 4000 mAh battery, 3MP rear camera, VGA front camera, and 1GHz dual-core processor.
It also packs 1GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and microSD card slot. Company has also pre-loaded educational content in the tablet and more can be downloaded via Samsung’s My Education service.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 311 GT-3110 will be competing with a host of budget tablets launched by known and little known Indian manufacturers as well as from companies like Huawei and Lenovo.
Samsung currently sells a host of other Android tablets in the country including Galaxy Note 800, and Galaxy Tab 2 10.1.
Despite the missing cellular data connectivity, Tab 2 311 is still a decent tablet and if you are looking for mid-range Android tablet from a known brand – Galaxy Tab 2 311 is worth considering.
We still don’t understand why Samsung has taken so much time to introduce this tablet in the country. It might have seen a better uptake if introduced six months back.
