HTC allows buyers to customise HTC E1 in China

We all have heard the rumours about Motorola’s plans to allow consumers to customise the X Phone; well HTC has already started doing that in China. The company is letting the buyers to customise HTC E1 before buying from its eShop in the country.

The buyers can either choose between 8GB or 16GB as built-in storage, 5MP or 8MP as the rear camera and among the six body colours as well as patterns. This is not all; HTC is also throwing a bonus red colour interior for the ones that buy the E1 with the best available features.

It might not be the PC like customisation offered by Dell and more, but it is surely a much appreciated move by the company. There is no word on whether the company wants to replicate it elsewhere, but it would only be possible at locations where the company has manufacturing plants otherwise the delivery might take around a fortnight or even more.

HTC has also partnered with Chinese portal Sina to offer some advice on the customisation based on you zodiac sign and gender. I am sure however of us will really take that seriously, and you can always ignore it and choose whatever you like.

The phone prices ranges between ¥1,699 ($275) to ¥1,899 ($307), depending on what you choose. Other features of the phone remain same, which include dual-core 1.15GHz processor, 1GB RAM, and 2,100mAh battery

HTC E1 also packs 4.3-inch WVGA Super LCD 2 display, Jelly Bean, dual-SIM support and the usual set of connectivity options along with NFC.
